Dowry

I was recently apprised that it is normal that the general expectation of many men is to receive the following dowry, variable upon their good career position with a good career graph: 1. 40-60 lakh cash 2. One big car (SUV, Innova, etc.) 3. Property 4. Excellent wedding arrangements (food, lodging, gifts for relatives, etc.) 5. Jewellery for the bride. This is 2020. I am truly stunned. And do feel quite impoverished now. P.s. Dowry is condemnable and illegal in India.

ft. technology

I distinctly remember blogging through the blogger app in my last post. I am certain because the post was born by my tech challenged thumb tapping on the app icon serendipitously. Today as I scourged through the multiple pre loaded apps, the icon had disappeared! These words are an outcome of the fresh installation of the app. What emerges in my mind in this cacophony is the element of puzzle...was it human tampering or was it a technological issue? How many times in our lives shall we face situations where doubt on humanity shall arise due to technology usage, I wonder. Shall we start suspecting our memory? Our friends? Our family? intelligence agencies? Shall we live in this perpetual sub conscious paranoia?  Well for some of us who shall be entrapped, it would be a pan gender fear. We shall be unified by our fears.  Is it that what's happening in the pop culture conversations? The vessel of the train of thoughts has reached the station of office. I need to deboard. Ciao....

Blogging in the times of Twitter

Social media friendliness has been my new year resolution for over two years now. The results are worse than nada. So, sorry Twitter. So dear Twitter, one  day, 'out beyond the ideas of wrongdoing and right doing there is a field. I will meet you there.' a la Rumi. Who knew losing my  voice device, #phone, I would find my voice, albeit in a blog. And this voice shall rant. Absurdity and ranting hardly ever go out of fashion after all. They flourish, either in expression or in repression. As goes the cliche, you can hate it but you can't ignore it. For now so long. Office is acting like a Monday on a Friday. As is  life. Enough said. Ciao.
